Guidance notes
Here are some written instructions on how to create a list of pages, or if you prefer, there is a video guide at the bottom of this page. You can expand the screenshots by clicking on them. Tips are given in italics.
These notes assume you are already logged into the CMS.
Setting up subpages as a thumbnail grid (boxes)
- Click on ‘Edit Mode’ in the top left of the toolbar
- Then left click on 'Add Content'
- Select ‘Page List’ from the list of block types
You can use the search box to easily find the block you are looking for.
- Scroll down and find ‘Location’, select ‘Beneath this page’
- Under 'Output' set 'Display Thumbnail Image' to 'Yes'
- Then click ‘Add’
You can also point it 'beneath another page' if you want to display a list from another section of the site.
- The pages will now be pulled through as a long list. To show them as thumbnails (boxes), click on the block again and select ‘Design & Block Template’. (On older sites this might show as Design and Custom Template).
- Select the 'Block Template' dropdown menu and select ‘Thumbnail Grid’. Now click 'Save'.
On older sites you may not see a drop down for Block Template. Instead, click on the cog icon to see the templates.
To reorder the Thumbnail Grid, you need to move the pages in the Sitemap (via the 'Dashboard' menu).
To add or change the images that appear in the boxes, you need to go to the specific page that the image appears above, and click "Composer / Page Settings" and then "Thumbnail image".
