Here are some written instructions on how to add an Alert Banner to a page, or if your prefer, there is a video guide at the bottom of this page.
Alert banners can be added anywhere on the site, contain text and an optional link, and have a red, amber or green (RAG) status.
Note: If you want an alert banner to be on every page across the site and you don't have one already, we will first need to add a 'global' area for you. Please contact Support in this case.
You can expand the screenshots by clicking on them. Tips are given in italics.
These notes assume you are already logged into the CMS.
- Enter edit mode and click 'Add Content'
- Search for the 'Alert Banner' block, and drag it onto the page
For best results, we recommend doing this in a full-width area, and not somewhere like a sidebar
- Select the alert status (red, amber or green) - this is the colour that the alert banner will be. For example:
- Red - to alert users of an urgent or emergency situation such as 'Visiting is suspended on this ward'
- Amber - to inform users of a minor issue such as 'car park is closed today'
- Green - to update users on a situation such as 'car park now open'
- Enter the alert text you wish to appear in the banner here
We recommend keeping it to simple text, and not inserting things like images or videos here
- If you wish for the alert banner to link somewhere when hovered and clicked, choose a 'Button Link'. Find out more about adding links in our content guide.
- Click 'Save' and the alert banner will appear on the page
