Here are some written instructions explaining how to add file types to the CMS. For example, if you have tried to upload .zip files and received an error message. You need to specifically allow these more uncommon file types for the security of the website and CMS.
You can expand the screenshots by clicking on them. Tips are given in italics.
These notes assume you are already logged into the CMS.
- Go to the CMS search (in the toolbar, to the left of the 'Pages and Dashboard' buttons)
- Search for the page 'Allowed File Types'
- Allowed File Types should then appear as a link beneath System & Settings
- The page that you're taken too will have a text box, with a comma separated list of all file types allowed on the CMS
- To add a new allowed file type, just add a comma to the end of the list followed by a space and the file type (without a dot) - for example ', ics'
- Click the blue Save button in the bottom bottom right - you should now be able to upload this file type to the File Manager
