Guidance notes
Here are some written instructions on how to add block to a page. The CMS uses 'blocks' which are the different types of content that can be dragged onto a page.
If you prefer, the video guide at the bottom of this page demonstrates adding a content block, although the drag and drop motion can be used for any type of block.
You can expand the screenshots by clicking on them. Tips are given in italics.
These notes assume you are already logged into the CMS.
- To add a block click 'Add Content' in the CMS toolbar
- Find the block you wish to add in the left hand toolbar (black). You can use the search bar to find a relevant block easily
Your site will have a 'demo' page which displays all the different blocks which have been styled for your site. This is usually /demo as shown in our example page.
- Click on the block and drag it onto the page. The areas that can take a content block are highlighted in green. If you hover over one area you will see the green line thicken to indicate the area that the block will be placed in.
- You can now edit the block as per one of our other tutorials
- If you want to change the location of the block, in Edit Mode - hover over the block until you see the green outline and the cross icon in the top right hand corner.
- Click on the cross icon and drag the block around the page
