A quick rundown
Cancer Alliances bring together clinical and managerial leaders from different hospital trusts and other health and social care organisations, to transform the diagnosis, treatment, and care for cancer patients in their region. The purpose of these partnerships is to enable care to be planned effectively across local cancer pathways.
We’ve had the pleasure of working with six of England’s Cancer Alliances over the past five years - more than a quarter of them. While they all share common goals, each has its own structure, audience, and priorities. That’s why we take a flexible approach, tailoring every solution to fit the needs of the organisation and the people it serves.
Projects
We have delivered Cancer Alliance projects in West Yorkshire and Harrogate, Cheshire and Merseyside, South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw, East of England, Surrey and Sussex, and South East London.
What’s consistent across all these projects is the time we’ve taken up front to really understand what’s needed. Before any development begins, we carried out detailed scoping sessions - not just with clinical leads and communications teams, but with people who’ve experienced cancer first-hand and Macmillan Cancer care.
Their insight has been invaluable. They’ve helped shape everything from the tone of the content to how it looks and works - highlighting the importance of things like colour choice, how much information to include, how users find their way around, and making sure the design works seamlessly on mobile.
Being part of these meaningful projects has been a privilege, and the lessons we’ve learned continue to shape the way we approach other patient-focused work.

What did they say?
A huge thank you to the team at Frank for guiding us through the development and launch of our new website.
We were given clear guidance and timescales on what to expect and by when, and they were responsive to our (many) queries.
A particular thanks to the design team for creating our interactive map.
The Content Management System is very user-friendly and I for one was able to quickly feel confident in adding and changing content. And the training videos, which we were given following the initial 121 training with the team, are very clear and helpful. Not just as a reminder of how to do something, but also in helping to learn a new website admin 'trick'.
Early feedback from our partners has been very good – they particularly love the positive, cheery design and the easy navigation. Looking forward to having Frank as support over the next year and helping us to keep moving the website forward.
