Background

Royal Papworth Hospital is one of the largest specialist cardiothoracic (heart and lung) hospitals in Europe and includes the country's main heart and lung transplant centre.

To meet the increasing demands for its services and to remain at the forefront of cardiothoracic services in the UK and beyond, Royal Papworth are preparing to move to a new purpose built hospital on the Cambridge Biomedical campus.

Royal Papworth wanted to launch a new website which reflected its new visual identity and presented the new hospital as one of the leading cardiothoracic hospital in Europe.

Project

Frank used our tried and tested methodology, breaking down the project into 5 key stages: Scoping, Development, Testing, Launch and Ongoing Support. We worked closely with key stakeholders across the Trust, creating a modern, professional design in keeping with the Trust's visual identity. In addition, we helped develop user journeys that support the overall organisation objectives and inspire a better user experience.

The Trust uniquely had a focus on Research and Development, so we spent time in understanding how they wanted to work with digital platforms, creating a specific area within the site.

Since the public facing website has gone live, we are helping to address another key issue within the Trust; maximising physical space within their new building. Working closely with the Trust's IT department, we are currently developing a new room and desk booking system that will go live in December 2018.
