A quick rundown
We partnered with Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust to design and develop a modern, user-focused website that makes it easier for people to find the support they need.
As one of the largest mental health and disability trusts in England, CNTW delivers a wide range of services across a large and diverse region. The new site needed to reflect this scale while making complex information simple, clear and accessible for patients, carers and professionals alike.
We created a clean, contemporary design with a strong focus on usability and accessibility. Content is written in clear, plain English to support health literacy, while layouts are structured to help users quickly orient themselves and navigate large volumes of information. An improved search experience, including predictive functionality, allows users to find services and resources more efficiently.
Key user needs are supported throughout the site. A prominent “I need urgent help now” feature appears on every page, ensuring that people in crisis can quickly access the right support. An interactive map and A–Z service listings help users explore services by location or topic, making it easier to access care across the Trust’s footprint.
Accessibility was central to the project. The website has been designed to meet the latest standards, supporting assistive technologies and ensuring content works for as many people as possible. We also reduced reliance on PDFs in favour of accessible web content, improving both usability and compliance.
The result is a flexible, scalable platform that supports CNTW’s digital strategy and empowers users to find information, access services and take control of their health more easily.
